Dining out,  Drinks,  Food

Opa-Opa!

(Just as a quick side note: I was unable to take any pictures of the sushi that I had on Thursday night with my supplier…not really one of those dinners that I could take out my camera and just randomly start taking shots, haha ;-). BUT, the sushi was amazing! I had salmon and tuna rolls mostly for the sushi…they were phenomenal.)

This weekend my boyfriend took me to the Westfield Airshow. There were so many cool planes from different eras there. You could walk right up to the planes and actually go into some of them. They had different acts where the planes flew over the crowd and did tricks. Pretty cool actually! Here are a few of the pictures I was able to get while we were there…

C-47 Skytrain (1943)

Geico Skytypers
T-6 Texan, C-47 Skytrain, B-25 Mitchell, PT-23
US Air Force Thunderbirds

We had a good time…I have to admit though that we were both SO tired by the end of the day. We ended up sitting in traffic for a total of 3 hours. That was not a good time, haha. I am not one of those particularly patient people when it comes to traffic. We decided after sitting in traffic for almost 2 hours and only moving 20 feet and walking around for 5 hours at the air show….that we were going to go out to dinner. πŸ™‚

We decided to go to Opa-Opa Bewery in Southampton, Mass. I have never gone before and I really enjoy going to breweries. There are tons of excellent beers to drink and the food is normally pretty good. This particular brewery had a really huge selection of beer and food! Click on the pic below and it will take you to the Brewery’s website.

Kix Brew

This Kix brew was a pale ale. I normally go for the unfiltered wheat beers, unfortunately it seemed that everyone else that day went for them too. They were completely out of the wheat beers. The pale ale did the trick though. Smooth beer. And my goodness this beer tasted amazing after such a long day!!

While we were waiting for our food the waitress brought out some molasses bread and butter. This is a dark bread and it had a very slight sweet taste. It was a perfect bread to go with our beers. It had a crispy crust while the inside was soft and warm, mmmm deeelliicious!

I think we were at the point where we were so tired that we didn’t want to get anything to eat that was too much but that we were definitely hungry. We both went with sandwiches. My boyfriend ended up getting a burger and I got a lump crab meat sandwich. Both were actually very good and just what we needed after our long day.

lump crab meat, lettuce, tomato, remoulade sauce, served on foccacia bread

This meal was followed by a 9:30pm bedtime, haha πŸ˜‰
