ABQ

Hello my dears!

How have you been!??

How was your Labor Day?

Mine was spent hiking up the Sandia Peak, but more on that later.

I just wanted to do a quick post and let you know that I am alive. I haven’t posted in a while and that isn’t because I haven’t wanted to.

Things have just been a little craaaazy lately.

Again, no food this time, but that is alright. We are taking a break from the food posts for 2 weeks and then we will be right back in them next week.

No worries, fellow foodies.

BUT, I thought you all might enjoy some pictures of Albuquerque.

Patrick and I had an amazing time. I mean literally was just want we needed.

It was so relaxed. We were able to get up every morning and run 2+ miles and then go back and get ready then just do whatever we wanted.

Let me telling you that running at elevation is WAY harder than running in CT. I need to go there and train for a month and then I would be all set for my 5ks! haha

Annika and Ryan let us stay with them, some of Patrick’s friends from high school, and they are just such sweet people. Annika is having a baby in October so she has a big pregger belly that is just too cute.

We ended up visiting Sante Fe, which was just the coolest little town with all sorts of shops and restaurants. We walked around for a day and I got some things to bring home to friends and family.

We also went to the Sandia Peak, which was by far my favorite event of the trip.

Annika and Ryan lived seriously about 5 minutes away from the tram that takes you up to the peak and then Ryan, Patrick, and I went hiking up to the crest which was just over 3 miles I think.

It was SO much fun.

And the views?! Holy cow….simply gorgeous…..

The food was also very good! Ryan was trying to take us to all sorts of places to get us to have plenty of breakfast burritos and green chile.

He didn’t disappoint!

There was one place we went to called Harry’s Roadhouse in Sante Fe and I got this blue corn waffle with honey butter and bananas. Holy moly that was so good! I was so impressed.

Then there was another place called Flying Star which was in ABQ and I got the rise and shine breakfast sandwich. This sandwich was really good! It had turkey sausage in it, but the sausage had green chile in it. Total winner.

Overall we were extremely happy about the food choices. Very yummy!

I definitely will be going back the first chance I get. I loved it there. I mean the pace is clearly different from what it is in the northeast, but that is OK.

Sometimes it is nice to take a break from being so busy all the time and just enjoying things as they are.

This weekend Patrick and I are gonna get back to work on the house, so I am sure you will all see an update on that in the next week or so.

My first 5k is next weekend! AHH!

I am so excited but nervous too.

I just got myself a pair of new shoes because after I do the 2nd-2-5ks my shoes are going to be destroyed (Rugged Maniac and Warrior Dash). I went with everyone’s suggestions and got Saucony’s. So we shall see.

I hope you are all doing well…

Oh, and does anyone notice anything different about the blog??

More on that later too πŸ˜‰

Have a great weekend!!
