Wine & Cheese = Great Quick Dinner

Whew! I think I am done with my Christmas shopping now, “wait…what?! You are done Raven?”…YES I AM! Besides little odds and ends I think I am done with all my Christmas shopping. What a load off!

I went to a whole bunch of stores last night to finish things up for family and friends. It felt really good to get it done the only bad part was…it was POURING DOWN RAIN the entire time! I mean it was pouring so bad that one of the times that I got back to my car, my hair was actually dripping water, haha. For reals, stop raining and give me some snow!!! (do you like the snow falling on my blog?? Because I do! πŸ™‚ )

So, after getting back from shopping and being soaking wet…I definitely did NOT want to cook. It was like 8:45 and I was cold and just BLAH!

While I was shopping I picked up some wine for some friends and thought, “Hey, if I am already here I might as well get myself a bottle, or two, for myself!” AmIRight?!Β  I got myself a bottle of one of my favorite red wines….It is called Tierra Brisa

It is a Malbec from Argentina. It’s description… “the dry climate the wine achieves near perfect ripeness endowing the wine with velvety texture and intense flavors of blackberry, peppery spice, and balsamic herbs.” YUM! It is a really delicious and complex wine that is really affordable. Personally, I prefer a Malbec or Cabernet Sauvignon to a Pinot Noir. I like the bolder flavors.

OK, so obviously I decided I was going to have some wine for dinner…why not?! I am a grown up! haha

(I love how you can see my cheese plate in the wine glass haha)

So…what goes with wine? Cheese does! And who doesn’t love cheese? I definitely do!I decided to go with some sharp cheddar and some mozzarella with pepperoni AND never ever can I have cheese without a dill pickle. It is a weird thing that I have, but I just love to have pickles with cheese. It is one of my “things”.

Also, I had some seven grain crackers and a clementine. Fruit always seems to compliment wine and cheese nicely.

I know what you are saying, “Oh my goodness Raven, that is a very large plate of cheese and pickles!”. I had some help with the plate I didn’t eat that ALL to myself ;-). It was nice to have a meal that was really yummy but also was really simple.

Happy Thursday!
