Chocolate Chocolate Cookies

Well hello there…How was your weekend? That’s good. Mine was good too. I spent a lot of it wrapping Christmas presents. Oh yea, believe it…I have wrapped the majority of my Christmas presents. Which I am SO happy about! I am not just awaiting some snow…I want snow, wicked bad!

I went to a party this past weekend and I wanted to make sure that I brought something. I decided to make some cookies and also an appetizer (post to come later). I didn’t want to make the normal chocolate chip cookies that I always make, although I do adore them.

What can I make that is yummy, has chocolate, is a cookie, and people will eat? Well duh dummy! Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies! 🙂

Ingredients for Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven 350ºF

In a large bowl beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla…until light and fluffy. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Stir into the butter mixture until well blended (it will be a little stiffer than normal cookie dough).

Mix in your chocolate chips. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto un-greased cookie sheets.

Bake the cookies for about 8-10 minutes, or until set.  Cool slightly on the cookie sheets and then place on wire racks to cool completely.

And then just because I personally think that every chocolate cookie needs this, I added some powdered sugar…

Yummy!

After I made them they kind of looked like Chocolate crinkle, which was not my intention…but they were pretty fantastic.

Happy Monday Bloggers!
