Nachos and a Present for Ravie!

Oh my goodness…Oh my goodness…Oh my goodness!! I cannot even tell you how very excited I am at this moment! So….

I decided on my way in from work this morning that I was going to do what I have wanted to do for a very VERY long time. Buy myself a digital SLR camera. I have always loved taking pictures! I mean even back in high school I took a photography class and I had a SLR that I used for that and I just loved it. I am one of those people who is constantly taking pictures of just about everything. It tends to annoying the sh*t πŸ˜‰ outta people, but I just can’t resist! I mean what better way to capture the moment you are in than snap a photo??

On my way into work today, I was able to witness one of the most gorgeous sights of a farm that had a little bit of fog hovering above the portion of land where they lay their crop and the sun was beaming over the trees. It gave everything this pinkish orange hue…and I thought to myself, “If I had a SLR I could really get a good photo of that”. I do love my point-and-shoot but in moments like that it is sometimes hard to get all the detail you really want. So, I decided to just do it…I mean after all, it is Christmas and I have worked really hard this year. I think I deserve to have something that I reaaaallly want. Right?

I have done a lot of research over the past few months and I decided that I wasn’t going to go too extravagant…just get something that will take good pictures that isn’t too advanced. I decided on the Nikon D3000. Overall, the reviews on it have been pretty good. It has some really great features and was also in my price range which was right about $500. I went onto Amazon this morning saw the price I wanted and hit the buy button, BAM! Camera coming my way…or so I thought…

I get this call this afternoon from the retailer that Amazon was listing the price from…they said:

Seller: “Is this Raven?”

Ravie: Yes ma’am it is.

Seller: “I am afraid I have some bad news about the Nikon D3000 that you placed and order for this morning. It seems as though we are out of stock of that item, even though it was listed as ‘in stock’ on Amazon. I am terribly sorry for this inconvenience.”

Ravie: πŸ™ Well, that is not good news.

Seller: “As an apology for this mistake, we would like to give you the next model Nikon above the one you placed an order for, the D3100. We also would like to send it to you next day so that you may have it tomorrow at no additional costs to you miss.”

Ravie: ::jaw drops:: “Uhhh, thank you!”

Seller: “No problem miss. Again we are so sorry for the mess up and we hope that you enjoy your new camera. You will be receiving email confirmation of what we just spoke about in a few minutes. Merry Christmas.”

Merry Christmas INDEED!!

I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM!!!! AHHHHH! πŸ˜€ The camera that they are sending me is like almost $200 more than the one I was buying AND it has all sorts of cool features on it that the other didn’t.

Anyways, let’s get to some food shall we??

Nachos. Chicken Nachos to be exact. If you haven’t noticed I really enjoy having anything that has salsa, cheese, and chips. haha….I think I could eat something that has any of those 3 in it any day of the week. So here we go…

Throw some olive oil and garlic in a pan. On the side salt and pepper some chicken. Place the chicken into the pan and sprinkle with red pepper flake. Let it get brown on one side and then flip. Take the chicken off the stove and cut into bit size pieces.

Place some chips onto a baking sheet, sprinkle with salsa, jalapeno, black beans, and the chicken. Then place shredded cheddar on top and then layer the nachos as high as you want! Bake at 350Β° for about 10-15 minutes. I always put lettuce and sour cream on mine too, hehe

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you all have a great weekend! Since I am getting a super awesome camera tomorrow AND since my mom is throwing a Christmas party…I am sure I will have tons to share next week!! πŸ™‚
