Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you all have had a fabulous week and are gearing up for your weekends. May not be a long weekend like this past one, but still a weekend right? I have been doing my best to get caught up this week on lots of things from being away. Work, bills, friends, my blog! Man oh man…I feel like I haven’t been posting regularly and it feels so weird haha. I am sure some of you know what I am talking about. If you go on vacation or are away and you don’t post things or aren’t around to look at other recipes, it feels…

Corn on the Cob with Roasted Jalapeño Butter

Do you ever notice that sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned them to? I never planned on moving from state to state the way I have. Although I wouldn’t change it for the world. I think that moving as much as I have has really shaped me as a person. There are people and places I would have never met or seen if I hadn’t of moved from KS to PA to now CT. I was very fortunate to be able to visit with my family and friends over the July 4th holiday in KS. I miss them all terribly and sometimes it is nice to go…

Once again another week comes and goes my friends. Another busy week has come and gone and I must say, I am pretty exhausted. But I can’t be!! I have rehearsal tonight for the next show that the dance company is in. We have 2 shows Saturday and I am sure they will go extremely well, I just need to get some energy in the next few hours before I jet off to rehearsal. 😛 Do you ever have one of those days where you just want a meal that is super comforting and satisfying? I had one of those nights and I wanted to make something that was going…

I started my weekend off right this past week…yup, that’s right…with cocktails! I know a lot of you saw my delicious cocktail picture on book of faces at precisely 6:31pm Friday night. I was lucky enough to take the afternoon off from work last Friday and take a nice bike ride. I am SO glad that I did that too because like you read in my post yesterday, it is supposed to rain for the next 6 days… 🙁 . I am very happy that I was able to get out and enjoy the last of the sunshine for a while. Anyways, to celebrate the gorgeously warm weather…what better cocktail…

What a perfect weekend! It was sunny and there was lots celebrating! Tino’s grandmother turned 95 this weekend!! How amazing is that?! She is such a pistol too, hehe. Even at 95 she is still sneaky, she was able to get a taste of her cake without ANYONE, besides me but I wouldn’t dare say a word ;-), seeing her (you know the sneaky finger in icing trick, haha). I was also able to celebrate a fabulous Mother’s Day with my mom. Every year it is our tradition to go to her favorite farm and to pick out all her vegetables, spices, flowers, etc. for her garden my treat! Then…

    Black Bean Quesadillas

What a day! I am so stressed out at work…I am really hoping that because I am so busy today that Friday will come sooner than I think it will! Seems forever away right now. Keeeep positive right?? Haha I have been doing really well on my “no sweets” for Lent goal. So far I haven’t caved at all, which I am really proud of! haha I really love desserts so this has been really hard for me. I think I miss making them more than I actually miss eating them. Is that weird? Anyways, I have been doing the whole no eating meat on Fridays which really doesn’t bother…

I always love hearing from you all! Second order of business…today I decided to join a team that is going to the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure walk. It is a great organization that is designed to help raise money for the fight against Breast Cancer. I need to raise $2,300 to be able to walk in it this(60 miles!!). It is in July and located in Boston, so if any of you want to donate please visit…

First off, congrats to CakeWhiz on the Top 9 with my recipe for water cake! I have to give thanks because I got a lot of traffic on my blog yesterday because of that. So a big thanks for featuring my recipe and another congrats for making it look so awesome! 😀 To all of you hummus haters out there…I don’t get you. I really don’t. I love hummus! It is Wednesday and today is my work Holiday party…so you know what that means right?! HALF DAY! I feel like I am back in elementary school where I am getting an early dismissal. It is always nice to get a break from the office 🙂 I finally got the cold weather I have been praying for but the snow is still lacking…we got a dusting of snow earlier this week but nothing you can play in haha. Send your positive foodie vibes my way for some snow…I am desperate! I love spicy food. Any kind of spicy food, I will definitely reach for it! Every time I make pasta…

I have been listening to Christmas music all day at work today…don’t judge me people! I am ready for Christmas haha…all of you know this though if you have been reading along that I have all my shopping and wrapping done…here was my little helper while I was wrapping: Meet Lucy, aka Lulubell. Gizzy was helping too but he was actually involved in the wrapping as you can see, Lucy was just taking a nap haha….isn’t he the cutest thing? (name what Christmas Cartoon that quote is from – hint: it has to do with Peanuts and Christmas). Btdubs, Lucy and Gizzy are the best of friends…she licks him like…

    Jalapeno Burgers

Happy Thursday to you all! I am getting settled from my trip I was just on in Baton Rouge finally. I literally ate celery at lunch yesterday with a bottle of water. I was STILL full from lunch the day before at lunch time the next day. Sheesh! I wish I could have stayed longer but I don’t know if my waistline could have handled it, haha. We are still experiencing rain in the northeast which makes it hard to get out of bed, but also gives you more time to look up some new recipes for things because you are stuck inside. I had a hankering for a burger…
